Haida Skirl Wavy Bevel is a kiln dried Select Tight Knot Thick Butt siding - basically a THICK NO Rabbet Bevel but with a wavy edge. It is irregular in width due to the manufacture of this unique siding. 

Trained wavy edge siding operators create a random pattern on each piece, which varies depending on the knot structure, grain characteristics, and the number of knots along the bottom edge of the piece. 

With a unique manufacturing process Haida creates a distinctive look that cannot be replicated by any other material. Hand crafted, the deep texture and wavy edge of Haida Skirl makes a dramatic statement .

1x12" Wavy Edge Haida Skirl n Kentucky cabin.  All siding and cedar trim was factory pre-finished with TWP "Cedartone" 1501 Semi Transparent stain.

You might be wondering why our Buffalo diagrams above have letters - A, B, C - instead of actual measurements. That is because siding measurements can vary from mill to mill and lumber yard to lumber yard. Using letters allows us to confirm the TRUE dimensions with the mill before we sell to our customers. 

Drying racks hold thousands of board feet in a controlled environment. 

If you were talking about 2000 square feet in of 1x6" Bevel siding it would take 4800 lineal feet of wood to cover that area. If you are going to finish both sides that is almost 2 miles of wood you need to find a way to dry while keeping the bugs and dirt off of it.

The Factory Finish machine is set to a consistent stain, prime or paint film thickness throughout the entire run. Any professional worth his salt will admit that machines can do a better job and will definitely cost less than a manual application.
