Sap B grade Redwood is known for the stark contrast in colors from the smooth cream of the sap streaks to the dark reds of the heartwood.
The contrast is "absolutely magnificent" according to one of our customers who loved this wood on her home.
Redwood Siding SAP B NEAR CLEAR Grade 1x6 Tongue & Groove V2E pattern with CLEAR Finish
Some of our customers tone the contrast with a "redwood" tinted stain. The customer below installed Sap B Redwood Siding on his Timber Frame home on the Hudson River in New York. The blend of Heart & Sapwood color contrast set his place apart from everyone in the neighborhood.
Redwood Siding SAP B NEAR CLEAR 1x8" BEVEL pattern with Sikkens "Cetol" Stain
He used a semi-transparent stain with redwood tint to smooth the contrasting natural sapwood cream color with the heartwood red - Redwood Timberframe home sided with Redwood Sap B grade 1x8 Rabbeted Bevel.
I think SAP B Redwood is the best value we have in appearance grade sidings. It comes with spectacular visual appeal and can be had with very few knots at a similar cost of knotty cedar.
Sap B Redwood does not have as much insect and moisture resistance as cedar or heart redwood so you have to be dilligent about your preperation and maintenance to keep it looking beautiful.
If you are a wood lover and will commit to taking care of this beautiful redwood siding, it will add value to your home and bring happiness to your heart.
