All Buffalo Lumber orders are delivered MILL DIRECT to your JOB SITE. Our orders are custom milled and factory finished. All communication is handled personally - by phone and email.
Our normal lead time from order to door is 4 - 8 weeks. Oversized and clear grade timbers may be longer.

S4S Smooth Clear Alaskan Yellow Cedar

- Alaskan Yellow cedar has excellent indoor/outdoor performance similar to Western Red cedar and is known for its straight and smooth grain. This is ideal for projects where minimal splintering is required such as decking, saunas and boat building. Yellow cedar is very strong and is highly rot resistant thanks to its tannin compounds.
- Rough Alaskan Yellow Cedar receives its texture from a milling process which uses roughened planer knives. The rough texture is clearly visible on all four sides. Surfaced Four Sides (S4S) has a smooth surface on all four sides uniformly sized with a high quality appearance. The lumber can also be resawn to expose a fresh cut rough face depending on your project’s needs.
- MEASUREMENTS: Our Cedar Timbers 6" and up measure true 6" to 12" thickness. 2 - 4" run aprox 1/4" less. Surfacing will shed another 1/4" from thickness.
