End-Matched Interior Knotty Pine paneling or exterior siding: The good news about our T&G Ponderosa Pine Paneling is that it is end matched. The great thing about end matched panelling is that it cuts down on installation and maximizes use of the wood. You do not have to run it from stud to stud, it fits together on the ends so you can run it and tack it as you go. This significantly reduces the amount of measuring and cutting in each job - a dream come true for installers. The results are 15-20% labor savings and up to 20% less material waste.

Our TnG Pine paneling is graded on both sides and surfaced on one. Reversible depending on whether you want to use the smooth or rough face. The lighter shades and beautiful texture of this wood make it an excellent choice for interior wall paneling projects.
 
Our T&G knotty pine panneling is a #3 wood DownGrade and better. It is the "and better" that makes this an attractive wood siding product. Better means that the mill throws in a good percentage of #2 and even a small percentage of #1. Our pine panels are not all perfect. Some boards will have small chips, dings and nicks - usually on the edges - hidden when installed as interior knotty pine wall paneling or exterior pine siding. Beautiful white knotty pine wood paneling at a 30 to 50% price savings!

Our Channel, ShipLap and Cove Lap knotty pine patterns are a Select #2 & Better Appearance grade. These patterns will have fewer knots and almost zero milling or handling imperfections. Which of course explains the higher price.

The Ponderosa Pine used for all 1"x paneling is Kiln Dried before surfacing. The pine timber is placed inside a large oven where heat removes moisture from the logs much faster than mother nature. Logs are dried until the moisture content reaches the desired level - from 12 to 19 percent. Kiln dried wood products are more stable and experience less shrinkage. Even after drying (seasoning) all woods do still shrink and swell to some degree as their moisture content fluctuates with atmospheric conditions. However, Ponderosa Pine is relatively unaffected by changes in humidity after drying, making it valuable for work that requires close-fitting joints.

Pine Paneling Coverage

Pine paneling is sold by the linear (or lineal) foot. Your quantity requirements are calculated by multiplying your square foot area by a linear factor based on the siding width. The Lineal Foot Factor is derived by dividing 12 inches by the individual pattern's exposed face.

A) Calculate the square footage in walls: length x height = sq. ft.
B) Calculate, and then subtract, the square footage of openings
C) Add 10% to cover trim and waste
D) Multiply the result by the factor for lineal feet
