California White Fir – A Real Wood Alternative! 
The look and feel of cedar at a fraction of the cost!
The White Fir used for all 1"x paneling is Kiln Dried before surfacing. The white fir timber is placed inside a large oven where heat removes moisture from the logs much faster than mother nature.
Logs are dried until the moisture content reaches the desired level - from 12 to 19 percent. Kiln dried wood products are more stable and experience less shrinkage.
Even after drying (seasoning) all woods do still shrink and swell to some degree as their moisture content fluctuates with atmospheric conditions.
However, White Fir is relatively unaffected by changes in humidity after drying, making it valuable for work that requires close-fitting joints.

Factory finishing is a process that ensures a lasting, higher quality job than traditional "on site" stain
applications. Most trim and sidings are installed before being primed which leaves the back unprotected and unsealed.
When you use factory primed trim and sidings you protect your wood from moisture and the problems that result. All
sides, edges and ends of the board are coated ensuring maximum protection of the wood fiber and stabilizing the moisture
content of the wood.
Add .10/LF for factory priming on 1x material, add .20/LF for factory priming on 2x material

T&G Fir Paneling Coverage
Lap Paneling Coverage
Pine Siding and paneling is sold by the linear (or lineal) foot. Your quantity requirements are calculated by multiplying the square foot area by a factor based on the siding width.
T&G example: If you are paneling four walls 8 feet high by 40 feet long with 1x6" Tongue and Groove fir paneling and we allow 10% of the total square feet for openings, you would need approximately 2200 linear feet:
4 * 8 * 40 = 1280 SQ FT - 128 (10% openings) + 115 (10% trim/waste)
LAP example: If you are paneling four walls 8 feet high by 40 feet long with 1x8" Lap paneling and we allow 10% of the total square feet for openings, you would need approximately 2200 linear feet:
4 * 8 * 40 = 1280 SQ FT - 128 (10% openings) + 115 (10% trim/waste)
